PEACEFUL LIVING: Individual and Relationship Coaching

Hi, my name is Dr. Lucinda Mitchell. The title of my coaching business is PEACEFUL LIVING; my office location is at Celadon ( on Sam’s Point Road). As a Life Coach, my job is help you identify problems,, formulate goals, and learn to manage the emotions and behavior that get in the way of your happiness.

Your initial consultation, a 25 minute meeting) is FREE, compliments of me. I want to be sure that this is the right place for you and that you feel safe and comfortable talking to me.

During the consultation session, you and I will discuss the process and get to know each other. Following that you may sign up for more coaching sessions or I will refer you to a more suitable avenue. Assuming you wish to continue after the initial consultation, all future sessions are 45 minutes long (usually for a period of 8-12 weeks).

What is Coaching

Much of what coaching is about is finding balance – the harmony that we all long for. Life is filled with joy and meaning, but the more difficult “stuff” of daily living can wear you down. Such imbalances occur all the time and for many different reasons seperation: illness, death of a loved one; family, parenting, or work-related stress; premarital therapy and low self esteem, just to name a few.

Regardless of the nature of your situation, it can feel overwhelming. At those times, you will do best to talk about it to somebody neutral; someone you can trust with private information.

Confidentiality is imperative in my work. My practice has always been based on trust: my first goal is to build rapport and help you trust your own instincts. Knowing when its time to reach out and pursuing the work are the most valuable first steps to self-discovery and problem solving.

Together, we will identify the issues that are troubling you most and begin to form personalized goals. I will play a strong and directive role in helping you by using tools specific to coaching along with my vast experience in professional counseling.

Coaching vs. Counseling

Coaching is problem-solving oriented. As such, the client uses the sessions to talk out problems to a trusted professional. Coaching is typically more focused on the present and future and less on early childhood experiences or trauma, whereas psychotherapy often focuses on deep-seated emotions from early life, gradually to present-day issues. This process extends the length and financial burden on the client, though it is the best option for many people.

Coaching and therapy are different from each other but there is no ‘right or wrong’ way. It is really just a question of which modality is best for you at this time in your life. In coaching, however, we will work as a team to identify the specific issues that are holding you back and together we will develop a customized goal-oriented program to help you change, grow, and feel better about your life.
